Monitors
The quality of an image your monitor displays depends on several factors, such as sharpness and focus, resolution and electronic component stability. Moreover, the quality of monitors deteriorates with age- be aware that your monitor can not provide the same bright quality
as a high resolution print can. To help you determine if your display covers a basic range of colors correctly, check with a greyscale .
If all pictures just seem "pale" or "dark" check your monitor's hardware setup, i.e. brightness and contrast.
Prints
Printing from a webgallery will certainly not fulfill your expectations, as neither monitors nor
printers are calibrated and the results I' ve seen from even the most expensive office printers were- to put it mildly- disappointing.
High quality prints (i.e. 300 dpi and above) of most images are available up to
50 x 75 cm, in some cases up to 50 x150 cm.
Please note, that the visual impression of clarity and luminance is
influenced by the carrier material, such as photo paper/ aludibond/ canvas.

Cameras and other Equipment used
The "age of digital imaging" has arrived even at my place, nevertheless I still use my
fully mechanical FM2 for landscape and portrait. Conventional slide film still gives you a fine
quality...up to 50 x 75 cm !
Apart from that, I prefer fast lenses with a fixed focal length. These work marvelously with
my digital camera, see the results in "industrial section".
Equipment for archiving
Unfortunately, slide film tends to darken over time- even if was stored properly. To ensure that the quality of
a image remains stable over a long time I digitize them with a high resolution scanner. Of course, once digitized the digital media has to be monitored and migrated to brand new carriers from time to time.

Darüber hinaus verschlechtert sich die Qualität von Monitoren
altersbedingt- man sollte sich bewusst sein, dass ein Monitor nicht den hohen Standard
wie ein Abzug haben kann. Um Ihnen zu helfen festzustellen, ob Ihr
Monitor eine grundlegende Palette von Farben korrekt abdeckt, kontrollieren Sie
mit einem
Graustufen-Bild .
Drucken aus einer Webgalerie ...
..wird sicherlich nicht Ihre Erwartungen erfüllen, da weder Monitor noch
Drucker kalibriert sind- die Ergebnisse von selbst den teuersten
Bürodruckern, sind gelinde gesagt, enttäuschend-
Hochwertige Drucke (d.h. 300 dpi und höher) der meisten Bilder sind bis
zu 50 x 75 cm erhältlich, Sonderformate bis 150 x70 cm.
Bitte beachten Sie, dass der visuelle Eindruck der Klarheit und der
Leuchtdichte
beeinflusst wird durch das Trägermaterial, wie Fotopapier / Aludibond /
Leinwand.

Das "Zeitalter der digitalen Bildbearbeitung" ist auch bei mir
angekommen, doch nehme ich weiterhin am liebsten meine
vollmechanische FM2 für Landschaften/ Reisefotografie und Portraits.
Konventioneller Diafilm ergibt eine feine
Bildqualität ... bis zu 50 x 75 cm !
Darüber hinaus ziehe ich lichtstarke Objektive mit fester Brennweite
vor. Diese funktionieren wunderbar mit
einer Digitalkamera, siehe die Resultate in "Industrial".
Archivierung
Leider neigt Diafilm im Laufe der Zeit dazu, nachzudunkeln- selbst, wenn
er richtig gelagert wurde.
Um sicherzustellen, dass die Qualität der Bilder über lange Zeit stabil
bleibt, werden sie mit einem hochauflösenden DiaFilmscanner digitalisiert.
Natürlich, auch die digitalen Medien muss man von Zeit zu Zeit prüfen
und ggfs. auf neue Träger migrieren.
